Breakthrough Cure For Eczema

Studies recently conducted in Italy and England have found an association between atopic eczema in children and low levels of gamma linolenic acid (GLA) which is found only in human breast milk and in evening primrose oil.

A study reported in Lancet in 1982 showed in an experimental controlled scientific trial with sixty adults and fifty nine children, there was significant improvement of eczema after the administration of evening primrose oil, both low and high doses. The severity of eczema improved by thirty per cent for the group which received low dosage and by forty three percent for the group which received high dosages.

What Are The Causes Of Eczema

Eczema is the skin's most common manifestation of allergic responses. Food sensitivities can be contributing factors and some of the more common foods that may lead to eczema include:

  • Corn

  • Eggs

  • Shellfish

  • Wheat

  • Chocolate

  • Beef

  • Milk

  • Other dairy products

  • Soy bean products

  • Potatoes

  • Fish

  • Peanuts

  • Greasy foods

When these foods are eliminated from your diet very often improvement is seen rather quickly. Sometimes environmental changes, such as central heating in the home in winter, pollen in the air or a pet introduced into the household, can also set off a skin rash.
