Symptoms Of Heat Exhaustion
The symptoms of heat exhaustion include:
confusion, weakness, dizziness, faintness, in coordination, headache,
muscle cramps, over breathing, disordered or dim vision, nausea and
vomiting, and rapid, weak pulse. A bout of 'food poisoning', with
diarrhea and/or vomiting may precede and precipitate the disorder, as
indeed can any disease accompanied by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or
sweating (e.g. malaria). The skin is cool, pale, and moist. The oral
temperature is usually normal or slightly subnormal. The
differentiation between heat exhaustion and heat stroke is illustrated
in below, heat stroke being a significantly more serious medical
problem.
The Differentiation Between Heat
Exhaustion And Heat Stroke Is Illustrated as Below:
Heat Exhaustion |
Heat Stroke |
- Pale, Cool, Sweaty Skin
- No Fever
- Weakness
- Serious Condition
|
- Red, Hot, Dry Skin
- High Fever
- Very Ill Or Unconscious
- Grave Medical Emergency

The Homeopathic Remedies For Heat Exhaustion Is As Follows:
-
Place the patient in a horizontal
position, with legs elevated, in a shaded place.
-
Give salt and water, as described above
under heat cramps.
-
Gently massage legs from ankle to knee.
-
Give either of the following homeopathic
remedies:
(a) Carbo vegetabilis 30 ¼h [crushed/liquid form]
(b) Bach Rescue Remedy ¼h
-
If cramps are severe, add either of the
homoeopathic remedies given above, under heat cramps, in the same
dosage.
-
Expert medical assistance should be
sought if the patient fails to respond rapidly to the above measures
(see below Diagnostic Problems)
Homeopathic Diagnostic problems In The Tropics
In the tropics, there may be confusion
between the symptoms of heat exhaustion, and those of algid malaria,
some types of 'food poisoning', and chemical poisoning, all of which
may present a very similar clinical picture. Should the patient fail to
respond rapidly to the measures given above, expert medical help should
be sought, so that treatment along different lines may be instituted in
accordance with the correct diagnosis.
